Inside the Ieron Kathisma, in a spirit of theological ecology, love and respect for the creation of God, two highly endangered species of Greek fauna are raised and protected. These are none other than the Maniatikos donkey and the Skyrian horse, which in turn are the divine gifts of the "Ark of Mani" and with their presence adorn the "Garden of Eden" of the Ieron Kathisma.
It is important to note that this ecological service of the fathers is constantly acknowledged and blessed by the Archbishop of Athens, Ieronymos, as well as other Orthodox hierarchs.
